On 18th September of 1986, PT Cipta Piranti Teknik, an Astra International subsidiary company entered technical assistant agreement on gasket production with Nippon Gasket Co., Ltd., of Japan.

Joint Venture Agreement was signed on April 12, 1996 between Nippon Gasket Co., Ltd., NHK Spring Co., Ltd., NHK Spring Co., Ltd., PT Astra Otoparts Tbk., and PT Indravidia Prakoso.

The commercial production was initially started on July 1997, in Karawang International Industrial City, West Java.

On January 11, 2002 the shareholding composition was restructured into Nippon Gasket Co., Ltd., NHK Spring Co., Ltd., and PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk.

At the latest, Nippon Gasket Co., Ltd., and PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk. as major shareholders are standing a side to make our company to become number one in domestic and Asean market, as stated in our Vision.
